Nasir alias Zakir
The first member of the gang who was arrested on August 1. Bunty contacted Nasir in April, three months after he came out of jail. He came to know that his girlfriend Karuna had enough cash at her home. He asked Nasir to elope with her. Karuna eloped with Nasir on April 11 with jewellery and Rs 1.25 lakh from her house in Sangam Vihar.

“Bunty gave them shelter and used the money to buy sophisticated weapons from Gorakhpur in eastern Uttar Pradesh,” said a senior police officer. Karuna’s father lodged a complaint and a case of abduction was registered at Sangam Vihar. It was Karuna who led to Nasir’s arrest last month.

Rajesh Sharma alias Panni
Killed in the encounter on Monday. He was arrested along with Bunty in September last year. Became an important part of the gang when he remained in touch with Bunty in Tihar jail.

A resident of Chalera village in Noida, he was extremely good with motorcycles. “Bunty knew that Rajesh was a good biker, so he used his skill to commit crimes in south Delhi. While Rajesh drove, Bunty would ride pillion and target people,” said the officer.

Mohammad Israel
Still on the run, he is known as the muscle man of the gang. He also met Bunty in jail. Stout built, he flexed his muscle whenever required. “He was the strongman of the gang,” said the officer.

Om Shiva
Began his career as a petty thief. He joined Bunty after meeting him at Tihar. He is still absconding and is said to be hiding in Madhya Pradesh along with Israel. After a reward was declared on their head on July 16, the gang had divided into two.
Good at driving motorcycle, he knew south Delhi quite well so was inducted into the gang.
