Hold back on PM choice: RSS to BJP
An article in Panchajanya, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) mouthpiece, on Saturday hit out at infighting within the BJP, stating that the party should not project anybody — including Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi — as the prime ministerial candidate ahead of the 2014 polls.
“Several BJP leaders carry the prime ministerial ambition. The candidate should be picked up only after the 2014 results,” the article by former editor and Sangh ideologue Devinder Swarup said.
The article said the Sangh is unhappy with Modi for “ignoring senior BJP leaders”. It also criticised him for insisting on the removal of his rival, Sanjay Joshi, from the party national executive.
Advani had attacked BJP president Nitin Gadkari in his blog on Thursday, questioning decisions taken by him in the past six months.
