HT wins international press award

Hindustan Times won the first place in the Public Relations and Community Service category at the prestigious INMA (International Newsmedia Marketing Association) awards at Miami, USA on May 15, HT Correspondent reports.

Hindustan Times won the first place in the Public Relations and Community Service category at the prestigious INMA (International Newsmedia Marketing Association) awards at Miami, USA on May 15.

HT won the award for its 'Gurgaon Collapsing' campaign -a five-part series by correspondent Sanjeev K Ahuja which brought to fore the breakdown of the civic infrastructure in Gurgaon.

Another Indian newspaper Dainik Bhaskar won third place in the same category for "Janta Ka Manifesto"(Public Manifesto)."

Dagens Nyheter of Sweden earned the third place.

The INMA Awards 2009 received 531 entries from about 157 newspapers in 43 different countries in 10 categories in three circulation groups: under 75,000, 75,000-300,000, and over 300,000.

HT won the award in the 300,000 circulation group.

The 21- member jury included executives in the media, advertising, marketing, and research industries across the world.

It is based in Dallas and has offices in New Delhi and Antwerp.
