Riding high on the victory in the trust vote, which would enable his government to bring home the Indo-US Civilian Nuclear Deal, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would be addressing the nation, on Independence Day, on Friday. In the era of coalition politics, Singh would actually be achieving a rare distinction of making that speech from the ramparts of the red fort for the fifth consecutive time.

Friday’s speech is also expected to show a new Manmohan Singh who with his strategic moves has come out of his (perceived) weak image to the one who leads the nation and government from all fronts.
