Arunachal Pradesh should also be included in the boundary talks between India and China, the state's chief minister Nabam Tuki has said.

"The Arunachal CM or his representative should also be included in the boundary talks between India and China," Tuki told HT.

"Other than the boundary row, we are not asking for participation in other outstanding issues between the two countries. But it is up to the Centre to take a call on this," he added.

Tuki's statement came after the state's MP Takam Sanjoy had initially raised the demand.

"China thinks there are no Mongoloid-looking people in India. Let them negotiate with an Indian team that has Mongoloid faces," said Sanjoy who is a Congress MP in the Lok Sabha.

Sanjoy is known to have made the same demand in the Parliamentary Standing Committee of External Affairs (PSCEA) meeting of which he is a member on January 13 where the Arunachal issue dominated the proceedings.

"As an MP, I cannot remain quiet on this matter any more. Hopefully something comes out during the PSCEA meeting which has now been extended by two days to January 19 and 20 where this issue among many others concerning the state will be discussed," he said.

Sanjoy is expected to raise issue of opposition to mega hydroelectric dams being built in the state besides internal security issues.

Secretaries of the external affairs, home, defence and commerce are also expected to take part in the deliberations.

The MP had also raised "coordination issues" between the external affairs, defence and Union home ministries that has led to non-resolution of many problems in the hilly state.
