No, the chill is not killing cricket thrill. Delhi seems to be gearing up for the India Pakistan one-day match in Delhi on Sunday — one after a gap of five years — in full spirit. The match, part of the ongoing ODI series, will take place at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

Ticket sales are on in full swing, and many are speculating that passes will be black-marketed as the run-up to the match heats up. Restaurant owners are also ready with special offers to hook fans. “There’s always this sudden excitement when an India-Pakistan match is happening; even non-fans jump to enjoy it,” says Gagan Kapoor, owner, Buzz.

Priyank Sukhija of 1 Boulevard adds, “We have some cool packages planned because we know this will thaw out the cold from Delhi.” Many are trying all the ‘jugaad’ (arrangements through connections) they can, to manage a ticket . “I am trying hard to get a ticket to the stadium, otherwise I will head to a nearby happening joint to watch the match,” says Abhay Sangwan, a DU student. “Thank God the match is on Sunday, otherwise I was planning to call in sick at work. Anything for this match,” says Rahul Sen (name changed), 26.
