The state university released four admission brochures for academic session 2012-13 on Thursday, declaring open admissions for professional programmes, engineering and architecture programmes, MBBS programmes and post graduate medical degree or diplomas.
The university has also given students an opportunity to apply online for which registration will start on January 25. This year forms were released two months earlier than usual so that more interested students can apply for admission. The forms for the MBA programmes were released in December.
"This is to ensure that we follow the schedule. Counselling for seats and the academic session for various programmes of the university will also start earlier than usual to ensure students get enough time to settle down before exams," said DK Bandyopadhyay, the vice chancellor.
The last date of submission of forms is April 16. The university, with its campus in Dwarka, has 106 colleges affiliated to it and has 11 centres.
"We are in talks with DTC to have a regular service to our campus. We have also requested Metro officials to change the name of Dwarka Sector 14 metro station to IP University metro station,” he added.
