A Delhi court has dismissed the bail plea of a Jamia Millia Islamia student who, along with four others, repeatedly raped a minor held in their captivity for over two months. The victim was kidnapped and confined at the residence of the accused.

District Judge RK Gauba said accused Pulkit Chaudhry does not deserve bail at this stage. The police on December 4 had arrested five men, including three law students, after a complaint was lodged at the Defence Colony police station on September 15 by the mother of the 16-year-old victim. "The accused had invited the girl to a party at his house after school. She had befriended him on a social networking site," said the police.

All the five accused — Chaudhary, Amandeep, Sharad Shekhar Tomar, Roopansu and Vikas Punia — are presently in Tihar jail.
