Kapil Mishra, Kejriwal’s wife spar on social media
“You are saying you came to our home on May 5. But when? I didn’t get to know. Whenever you came, I asked for tea. Didn’t I?” Sunita Kejriwal tweets to sacked minister.delhi Updated: May 16, 2017 17:17 IST
The internal struggle in AAP and subsequent war of words just got bitter on Monday with Sunita, wife of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, taking potshots at former water minister Kapil Mishra.
Sunita, who usually recluses herself from making public statements, asked Mishra to reveal the time when he visited their house in Civil Lines on May 5. Mishra, MLA from Karawal Nagar, had alleged seeing Kejriwal taking R 2 crore bribe from transport minister Satyendar Jain at the CM’s residence.
After calling Mishra a “stupid man” who she alleged was using a “written script” of another political party, Sunita taunted him and warned of consequences for levelling false allegations on her husband.
“You used to call me sister, so if you saw Rs 2 crore in my house, you could have told me,” she said in a tweet on Monday.
“You are saying you came to our home on May 5. But when? I didn’t get to know. Whenever you came, I asked for tea. Didn’t I?”
Replying to her tweet, Mishra suggested that Kejriwal was using his wife’s account to tweet. “Sir @ArvindKejriwal return Sunita ji’s phone to her,” Mishra tweeted. On Sunday, he had accused Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party of receiving illegal donations from shell companies.
Later, Sunita, a former income tax commissioner, posted another tweet saying, “Law of nature never errs. Seeds of deceit, lies sown, so shall he @KapilMishra reap. Inevitable.”
Mishra was quick to respond to the barb and said, “Sunita ji is a very committed wife. She doesn’t know what type of conspiracies are being hatched in her house. She is fulfilling her duties.”
In another message, the sacked minister said he was not going to “utter a single word” against Sunita Kejriwal. “Sunita ji is unaware of truth. She is upset with her husband’s downfall. I respect every negative comment from her side. (But) I will not utter a single word against her,” he tweeted.
Last week, Mishra’s mother, Annapurna Mishra, had fired a public salvo at Kejriwal, accusing him in an open letter of spreading “falsehood” against her son by saying he was associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. She had accused Kejriwal’s “closest friends” of circulating misleading photographs on the social media.
“How many lies, Arvind? How many... Lies will not help you. Be afraid of God,” she had said in the letter.
Though Sunita is not seen to be dabbling in politics, her attack on Mishra was the second in a week. She had called Mishra “stupid” without naming him in a tweet last week after the Anti-Corruption Branch registered an FIR against a company that belonged to Kejriwal’s late brother-in-law Surender Bansal in another scam.
“My brother-in-law is no more n this stupid man is speaking all written script without any mind,” Sunita had tweeted on May 8, a day after Bansal’s death.
