A day after Vijender Gupta, the BJP’s candidate from Chandni Chowk constituency, marked his presence on the Internet, Kapil Sibal of the Congress launched his launched own portal.

Sibal, the constituency’s sitting MP Union science and technology minister, claimed his website was more dynamic and user friendly than that of his opponent.

The site www.kapilsibal.net not only details Sibal’s profile, achievements and a collection of his speeches, it also encourages users to become his “fans” on social networking sites like Orkut and Facebook.

Taking a dig at his opponent, Sibal said Gupta was made the candidate after Vijay Goel decided to contest from the New Delhi constituency. “The real contender escaped because he knew he was going to lose and the BJP had no candidate left. Vijender Gupta has no experience at the state or national level,” he said.
