Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal pn Saturday said he would send a legal notice to the Indian Express newspaper for publishing a report claiming that fellow activist Kiran Bedi had written to Anna Hazare doubting the handling of funds by Kejriwal’s NGO.

According to the Indian Express report, Hazare said that Bedi had written an e-mail to him that funds were "not being handled properly" by Kejriwal’s NGO Public Cause Research Foundation (PCRF).

"Yet another fake story by IE (Indian Express). Just spoke to Anna. He denies having said any such thing. We will send a legal notice to IE," tweeted Kejriwal.

Bedi too slammed the report and said that she had never doubted the integrity of the PCRF, which is "the most closely, well audited body".

"I have checked with Annaji. He has denied any such correspondence. If Anna has not received anything, so what does it mean?" she said in a statement.

Bedi said: "The intention of such a front page space in a national daily is nothing but to persevere in its ongoing efforts to somehow break or weaken the synergy in the most needed anti-corruption movement in the country today. The sabotage will not succeed. Readers are wise to see through this."
