Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will undergo a throat surgery in Bengaluru on September 13.
Officials said Kejriwal will undergo surgery at Narayana Hospital in Bengaluru and is likely to stay in the city for about ten days post-surgery.
Kejriwal suffers from a chronic cough problem.
Before going to Bengaluru, Kejriwal will be on a four-day visit to Punjab, starting September 8.
The AAP state unit has been facing problems after Suchha Singh Chhotepur was removed from state convener’s post.
“The chief minister will meet party leaders and address public gatherings in Punjab. Then he will leave for Bengaluru on September 12 and undergo surgery the next day. He is expected to return to Delhi on September 22,” said a senior government official.
In his absence, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia will look after chief ministerial works. Sisodia will visit Goa on September 6 to meet transporters and party workers. Along with Punjab, assembly elections are due in Goa early next year.
