Unidentified thieves barged into the office of a revenue department registrar in Janakpuri and decamped with some important documents on Sunday night.

While police claimed that no such incident was brought into their notice, sources said that the assailants broke into the office through a window.

According to sources, the matter came to light on Monday morning when other employees of the office reached there and found papers and other stuffs scattered around.

The matter was immediately brought into the notice of the registrar who soon arrived at the spot. “The thieves had entered the office after breaking a window. No complaint was made to the police since nothing but only some important documents were found missing from the office,” a source said, adding, “The office is under the surveillance of CCTV cameras installed. The CCTV footage are being examined to ascertain the identity of the miscreants.”

Apparently, the source said, it seems that the assailants had barged into the office only to steal the documents.

The office staffs are trying to find out which kinds of documents were missing. Incidentally, the office of the registrar is just metres away from the local Janakpuri police station.
