Senior vice-president (flight operations) of Kingfisher airlines Captain Ronald Nagar and his brother John Nagar, a British national, also suffered serious injuries after a bomb placed in a brief case exploded at the Delhi high court this morning, killing 11 people and injuring more than 70.

Both the brothers were admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital immediately after the blast.

Ronald had come to the high court with his brother for a hearing on a civil case and was standing in the queue to get the pass made when the blast occurred. The Nagar family reached the hospital after they saw the news being flashed on television screens.

“We rushed to the hospital as soon as we got the information about the blast. He has just undergone a surgery. I hope he recovers soon. His brother John is better and is talking. He is having problem with hearing,” said Twinkle Dodge, Ronald’s sister-in-law.

“We have operated upon Nagar and he’s stable. He has suffered serious injuries and his chest got ruptured. He’s conscious right now. It was a critical surgery,” said a doctor at the hospital requesting anonymity.

Ronald was shifted to Max Hospital in Saket after the surgery was completed. “We are shifting him to Max hospital as at this stage, he needs more attention and better medical treatment,” added Dodge.

“Max is only willing to share that two patients have been brought to the hospital. The patients have been admitted in a state of shock,” said a spokesperson of Max Hospital.
