What are the issues and how will you address them?
Problems in abadi land, land compensation, lack of civic amenities, school fee hike are main issues. I will try to resolve land-related issues amicably through discussions with farmers. No objection certificates to schools will be cancelled if they are found to be hiking fee by more than 20 per cent.
The Noida Authority, an autonomous body, is developing infrastructure and they are doing a good job. So why do residents need an MLA or MP?
Although the Authority consults MPs and MLAs while planning development projects and also take people’s view into consideration, there is a need to have public representatives on Noida Boards. It will lead to accountability and transparency.
How will you bridge the disparity between urban and rural areas?
I will try to get the rural development budget hiked for better development.
A major issue is land acquisition. Government acquired land from farmers at low rates and sold it to private parties at higher prices. What will you address it?
It was Mayawati’s government that that doubled the compensation amount. Earlier governments of SP and Congress hiked it by just 10 to 15 per cent. The issue now is not of price at which land will be acquired. Farmers of some villages want the hike to be effective from 2005.
