Delhi Police have arrested a labourer for allegedly stealing a DVD player from the Constitution Club that is run by Members of Parliament.

The incident came to light on Saturday when a catering supervisor at the club, which is located Rafi Marg, noticed that the DVD player at the reception was missing.

“He checked Friday night’s CCTV footage. From the footage, he found that a labourer, involved in the construction work of a swimming pool at the Club, had stolen the DVD player. He went to the construction site, caught the labourer and informed the police,” a senior police official said.

The alleged thief has been identified as one Yunus, who resides in a slum behind the nearby VP House. The stolen DVD player was recovered from under a staircase near the under construction pool.

A case has been registered in the case.
