The Left on Saturday questioned Baba Ramdev's indefinite hunger strike against black money, saying that the way religious leaders are taking the political platform is a mystery.

"Struggle against corruption is a national struggle. Anybody can raise the demand of fight against corruption. This is a common demand... if this demand is being raised by religious leader, I don't feel intrigued, but if the religious leaders suddenly tries to be placed in a political platform, it becomes mysterious," Communist Party of India leader Gurudas Dasgupta told a TV channel.

On the Lokpal bill, he said it should cover all public officials.

"Lokpal bill is important, all people should be brought under the Lokpal including the prime minister and Supreme Court judges," he said.

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev Saturday began a fast demanding that black money stashed in banks abroad be brought back to the country.
