Thousands of Metro riders had a tough time commuting on the trouble-prone stretch between Noida and Dwarka during evening hours on Thursday. Slow-moving trains and low frequency caused serious inconvenience to the commuters.
Commuters said they had to wait in the platform for 30 minutes to board a train due to low frequency. Trains on the over-crowded line number 3 that connects Dwarka sub-city with Noida City Centre and Anand Vihar were delayed due to technical glitches as per the announcements made in stations.
However, when contacted, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson, said: “There is no such report of delays and service disruptions.” “I have been waiting at the station for the past 10 minutes but the information board still says that the train will come only after 20 minutes. I was forced to miss a train earlier as there is no place to even stand in it.
The crowd just keeps increasing,” said Pankaj Bhambani while he waiting for a train at Noida Sector 16 around 6pm. The delay led to bunching of trains on the track that resulted into running of trains at low-frequency.
