A 50-year-old housemaid was found dead at a house in Green Park on Sunday morning. There were strangulation marks on her neck. Another domestic worker employed at the house is said to be absconding after the incident was reported.
Angry relatives smashed the windowpanes of the cars and damaged the gates of the house. Police said the woman, identified as Ram Beti, had been hired by her employers only three days ago. The incident was reported at the home of factory-owner Devendra Kumar Jain.
Ram Beti’s son Jagdish Kumar however alleged her employers were behind her death. “When she did not return home on Saturday night, I went to the house of the Jains to enquire about her. They told me she already left. On Sunday they called me again and said her body was lying on the third floor of the house,” said Kumar.
“We are looking for the other domestic help Keshav (20) who has been absconding,” said a senior police officer.
