Mamata to formally name TMC prez candidate today

Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today will formally announce party's candidate for presidential polls. Mamata who has been actively backing former president APJ Abdul Kalam has issued specific diktat to ensure no cross-voting.

Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today will formally announce party's candidate for presidential polls. Mamata who has been actively backing former president APJ Abdul Kalam has issued specific diktat to ensure no cross-voting.

A formal announcemen will be made on Monday evening.

Sources suggest, Mamata will issue a whip instructing the Trinamool MPs and MLAs to fall in line and vote for the candidate she picks as many TMC MLAs and MPs are upset with Mamata's decision to not support UPA's nominee Pranab Mukherjee.
