A man bludgeoned his employer to death with a heavy metal rod over a salary dispute on Wednesday in Jeevan Nagar area under Mujesar police station. The victim, Manzoor Gilahi alias Raja, owned an aluminium casting workshop where Saddam, the accused, used to work.

Saddam had been demanding his monthly salary but Raja was avoiding him. On Wednesday, around 8am, Saddam repeated his demand but Raja asked him to wait for a few more days, the police said.

An angry Saddam picked up a heavy metal rod and hit Raja, killing the latter on the spot. When better sense prevailed upon him, Saddam realised what he had done in a fit of rage. He surrendered before the police, sources said.

However, the police claimed that Saddam was picked up from his house.

“We have registered a murder case against Saddam. He will be produced before the court on Thursday,” said SHO Mujesar, Sandeep Mor. He added that Saddam has confessed to killing his employer.

Both the deceased and the accused hail from Bihar. The deceased is from Madhubani district of Bihar. His body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem.
