A 22-year-old management student, who dreamt of setting up his own BPO business in Varanasi, has been arrested by police in connection with a theft at his sister’s home in north Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar.

Madhusudhan, a Punjab Technical University student, lived with his sister and her accountant husband, Manoj Kumar. The theft was reported from Kumar’s home late on April 27.

Kumar told the police that he kept R9 lakh, given to him by his employer for payments, at his home. On the night of April 27, he was in his office.

“The next morning, he got a call from his wife informing him that a safe containing the R9 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewellery had been stolen,” Meenu Choudhary, DCP (northwest), said.

“He said he was in Gurgaon on April 27, but investigations revealed that he was in the Adarsh Nagar area at the time of the crime,” Choudhary added.
