Tired of saving every penny to fulfil his Bollywood dreams, a 19-year-old youth allegedly started robbing people. He was trying to save the robbed money to make his way to Mumbai to try his luck in the film industry.

The west Delhi police on Monday arrested Mukesh Kumar from Moti Nagar area along with his accomplice Akbar (19) following a tip-off about their presence in the locality.

“Mukesh is fond of Hindi films and his friends told him that he could be a film star. He thought he will be a film star born in a slum cluster. He wanted to be a model before becoming a film star,” said V Renganathan, DCP (west).

The police said Kumar wanted to get his modelling portfolio done with the robbed money. “He came in contact with anti-social elements and started to commit petty offences. On April 14, Mukesh and his gang robbed four passengers and a driver of an auto rickshaw while they were going to New Delhi Railway Station,” the DCP said.

Mukesh hails from Bihar and belongs to a poor family. He has studied till Class 5 and used to sell clothes on footpath.
