Outer Delhi Police have arrested a man who reportedly ran over his wife’s alleged lover with his Mahindra Scorpio sports utility vehicle (SUV).

“Pawan Garg allegedly ran his car over Sanjeet Kumar (28), whom he suspected of having an illicit relationship with his wife,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Atul Katiyar.

Garg (29), a resident of C-block Mubarakpur Road, Kirari Chowk, Nangloi, was arrested from M2K, Rohini, where he had come to meet his friend and some lawyers on Wednesday. The accused looks after his family business.

The police said Kumar, pursuing his graduation via correspondence, allegedly developed intimacy with Garg’s wife Parul. Garg had taken away his wife’s phone on three occasions because she allegedly used to chat with Kumar, they added.

On November 13, the Garg family had gone to Balaji Hospital in Paschim Vihar where Parul was undergoing treatment, Katiyar said.

On their way back home, Kumar allegedly followed them on his motorcycle and banged his fists on the driver’s side window glass of the SUV. When both vehicles reached near Mangolpuri Y-Block, Garg deliberately hit Kumar’s vehicle and then allegedly ran him over, the police said.

“Garg got down and kicked Kumar lying on the ground. After ensuring Kumar was dead, Garg started dancing with joy and proclaimed ‘I have won. I have won’,” Katiyar said.
