Metro no more a priority, says GDA

The paucity of funds has led to the shift in priority to extend Metro network in Ghaziabad to the need to have a regional rapid transport system for Ghaziabad Development Authority.

The paucity of funds has led to the shift in priority to extend Metro network in Ghaziabad to the need to have a regional rapid transport system (RRTS) for Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).

The GDA officials said that they don’t have enough funds to extend the Metro network in the city. Instead, they said, a regional rapid transport system (RRTS) — an inter-city high-speed train connectivity project — is more financially feasible as a means for mass-transport and the authority would prefer it over Metro.
