The last Metro train service on October 17 will start at 8 pm from terminal stations of all the three lines (Dilshad Garden, Rithala, Jahangir Puri, Central Secretariat, Dwarka Sector-9 and Yamuna Bank Metro stations).
"Metro train services will run as usual for rest of the day on Diwali from 6 am onwards," a DMRC spokesman said, adding that feeder buses will be available at all designated stations from 6 am to 8.30 pm on Diwali day.
The spokesman said the Delhi Metro will operate its trains at peak frequency from 8 am to 8.30 pm on Monday on the ocassion of 'Bhai Duj'.
"During this period, trains will be available every four minutes on Line 1 (Dilshad Garden to Rithala), every 3 minutes 25 seconds on Line-2 (Central Secretariat to Jahangir Puri) and every 4 minutes 15 seconds on Line 3 (Yamuna Bank to Dwarka Sector-9)," the spokesman said.
He said normally, trains operate at this frequency from 8 am to 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
As a result of increase in frequency, 1,417 train trips will be run on Monday, which is an addition of 89 train trips. Delhi Metro will also open extra ticket counters and deploy additional staff at important stations on the day, he said.
Last year on 'Bhai Duj', the number of passengers had increased by 46 per cent compared to normal days.
