The maximum temperature on Sunday touched 43.6 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. But it was not just the maximum temperature that troubled the city. The minimum temperature too was off the charts. At 32.7 degrees, the minimum was five degrees above normal.
The coming few days are expected to be the same with the Weatherman forecasting a maximum temperature of 43 degrees and a minimum of 33 degrees.
"No rainfall is expected in the coming three days. This June is among the hotter ones in the last few years. The lack of any rain has made it more unbearable. The city may see a dust storm sometime later this week but it will not affect the temperatures," MeT department officials said.
