A CD with "objectionable content" was being circulated within the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus for the past six months.
But the matter came to light only last week when the security department of the varsity acquired a copy of the said compact disc (CD) and submitted it to the proctor’s office for enquiry.
The CD in question supposedly contains clips of a boy and a girl in a compromising situation. The varsity authorities are questioning the boy and the girl along with another student who was allegedly involved in recording the CD.
While the boy and girl are undergraduate students in the School of Languages, the student involved in recording the CD is a MCA student of the university. All three of them belong to the Tapti hostel.
The chief proctor who is enquiring into the matter confirmed the incident on Monday. "The enquiry into the matter started last Monday. The security department who submitted the CD to us alerted us about the matter. We were told that the CD was being circulated in the campus," said HC Bohidar, chief proctor.
"We have examined the CD and have found the contents objectionable. It was shot in one of the hostels of the university. All the three students are being questioned. We will submit the report in a week's time," added Bohidar. So far no action has been taken against any of the students. Also, no police complaint has been made as yet.
