Keeping in mind the intense cold, some schools in the Capital have extended their winter break. School managements have either extended the winter break or are planning to do so. Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, which reopened on January 3, has again closed till the next week.
"We reopened on Monday but as the temperatures dipped on Tuesday, we have decided to close the nursery, KG and class 1 classes till January 10. The weather is too harsh for children to come to school," said principal MI Hussain.
Both the branches of Sprindales School, Pusa Road and Dhaula Kuan, are supposed to reopen on Wednesday. "We are reopening on January 5 as per schedule but considering the low temperatures, we may extend the break. But we will take a call on it only after we reopen," said Ameeta Wattal, principal, Sprindales School, Dhaula Kuan.
Most other schools such as DPS, RK Puram, Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nagar, Bal Bharti School, Gangaram Marg, etc., will open on January 10. Delhi government schools are also scheduled to open on Janury 11.
