With board exams round the corner, it seems the ambit of initiatives to tackle examination related stress has grown a little larger this year.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently launched a short film and an information booklet on the issue.
Titled Smile Your Way Through Exams, the 40-minute film is a first-of-its-kind initiative where counsellors and students come together to create a film relevant for the exam season. It has about 20 students involved in the making and features a host of CBSE counsellors and experts including G. Subramanium, former Director (Academics), CBSE.
The film, which has been made in collaboration with Expressions India (a life skills education and school wellness programme), had its first official screening at Hansraj Model School on January 28. Students from 21 schools were invited for the screening.
“Smile Your Way… is meant for students appearing for board exams in March.
Students of Hansraj Model School and DPS, Vasundara, helped make the film. We have mailed copies of the film and the booklets to over 100 schools already,” said Jitendra Nagpal, programme director, Expressions India.
“The film offers different and interesting stress busting techniques suggested by the students. Talking to plants is one of them as many students found that parents would start admonishing them every time they tried to open up,” said Geetanjali Kumar, who has been a CBSE counsellor for almost 11 years.
Students can view a three-minute clipping of the film on the board’s website cbse.nic.in.
