The Lok Sabha on Monday saw some questions going unanswered as the members who had asked them were not present in the house.
A question on ragging in sainik schools could not be taken up as the members — Nikhil Kumar Choudhary (BJP) and Usha Verma (Samajwadi Party) — who had raised the issue were not present during the question hour.
Satpal Maharaj (Congress), who wanted to ask a supplementary on this issue, was also not present when Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar called his name.
He had just stepped out of the house.
Similarly, Bal Kumar Patel (Samajwadi Party) and Badruddin Ajmal (All India United Democratic Front) were not present in the house when their questions on relocation of toll plazas and death of wild animals respectively were taken up.
Also, reports of committee on public undertakings could not be laid on the table of the house as the members— Jagdambika Pal and Vilas Muttemwar (both Congress)— who were supposed to present these, were not present in the Lok Sabha.
