Days after his elder brother was brutally assaulted before being set ablaze allegedly at the instance of his employer, 45-year-old Janeshwar Sharma’s brother Yogesh (33) on Friday claimed his brother was punished for being unsuccessful in spying on one of his employer’s business associates.

Janeshwar died after suffering 85 per cent burns.

Yogesh claimed Anil Nanda, his brother’s employer, shared a “personal relationship” with the associate and wanted his brother to spy on him.

He claimed his brother was mercilessly assaulted by a trio, including Nanda himself, set on fire using kerosene and thrown out on the street outside the industrialist’s house.

“He knew his end was near when he was caught and reprimanded by Vijay Sinha around four days before Nanda’s minions killed him,” said Yogesh of his elder brother.

Yogesh said his brother, a former hawaldar who had taken voluntary retirement from the Army in 2004 and had served Nanda as a driver since, was “frustrated, felt demeaned and wanted to quit his job” after witnessing and being forced to participate in “perverted sexual practices”.

“Woh kehte the ki uska ghar bahaut gandi jagah hai. Ki wahan do number ke dhande se lekar bachchon ke yaun soshan tak sab chalta hai (He used to tell me that his [Nanda’s New Friend’s Colony residence] is a very dirty place, that it's a place where everything from illegal businesses to perverted sexual activities with young children are carried out),” Yogesh claimed.

Anil Nanda, chairman of Akme Projects that has its presence at various locations including Delhi, Ludhiana, Goa and Bangalore, is the younger brother of Rajen Nanda, the owner of Delhi’s premier Escorts Hospital.

Rajen is married to Ritu, the eldest daughter of the late filmmaker Raj Kapoor.

Their son Nikhil Nanda is married to Shweta, the daughter of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan.

Yogesh alleged that together with his other associates, Jitender Pandey and manager Dheeraj Balani, Nanda had set his brother on fire after assaulting him mercilessly when he expressed his disgust at the trio’s fetish for young boys.

He also alleged that not only the police but the SDM also ignored their complaint when their approached them on June 9.
