The 24-year-old Naval employee who was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on espionage charges contacted his ISI handlers whenever he went on leave.
“His main intention behind going on holidays was to give the documents to his ISI handlers,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he was not authorised to speak to the media.
“He was selling documents regarding the Navy, along with the recce he did of Meerut Cantonment and other army bases for them.”
The police said that till now Prasad has not divulged much about his handlers, though the police has been able to substantiate the handlers might be hiding somewhere in Uttar Pradesh.
“In the last two years, Prasad has made a number of trips to different areas in UP like Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad and places near the Nepal border. We suspect that these are the place he went to hand over the documents to his handlers,” added the officer.
