Two persons hailing from Nepal, who managed to procure jobs as security guards at vital US-led Allied Forces installations in Afghanistan, by using fake Indian passports, were arrested at the IGI airport on Monday, police said.

According to police, the accused have been identified as Vishnu Nath Gurung and Krishna Bahadur Rai.

“We arrested the duo after nabbing a local agent of Nepali origin for possessing fake passports. The agent confessed to having sent several Nepalis to Kabul using fraudulently-obtained documents,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.

Police said initial interrogations revealed that they had procured the fake Indian passports from the Regional Passport Office in Guwahati.

Police stated the travel agent has been identified as R.P. Yadav from Shakarpur.
