The campaign was launched by Mishra. But by the evening a statement from his office clarified that the website and campaign was being run by volunteers and not the Delhi government.

“We had posed a challenge to Gupta saying he would shave off his moustache if, after sending the report to the ACB, Dikshit is not arrested within two months. This two-month period gets over on August 13 and Dikshit is still out of jail.... Our countdown is a reminder to him to arrest Sheila Dikshit, which he can’t do because of the active collusion between BJP and Congress. In which case, he should prepare for a new facelift, and remove his moustache..,” Mishra said.

Gupta, however, said AAP leaders were trying to make light of a serious issue.

“Arvind Kejriwal is a joker. He is the one who spoke about shaving off moustaches. He should shave off his own. They (Kejriwal and Mishra) are the ones who tried to bury corruption allegations. They first sat on the water tanker scam report for months. When I raised the issue in the Assembly, they had to create this drama under frustration. I raised a serious issue and they made a joke out of it. Also, it is a matter of record in the assembly proceedings that they are the ones who spoke about shaving off moustaches, not I,” said Gupta.

The website has a countdown until August 13 and a video that shows Gupta standing atop a table in the assembly demanding that the report be sent to investigation agencies.

It also shows Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal saying if Dikshit is not arrested, Gupta will shave off his moustache.
