To ensure that people who have misplaced or not been issued voter identification cards are able to vote, the Delhi State Election Commission has come up with a list of identification cards that can be used in place of it.

While passport, driving license, property documents among others can be used as an identity proof, the commission has said that ration card will not be admitted as a document of identity.

“Many times, people included in the voter list don’t go out and vote as they don’t have an elector photo identification card. We have given a list of other ID proofs that can be used in lieu of that,” said Rakesh Mehta, election commissioner.
