Cars, two-wheelers parked right in front of it in a haphazard manner and the clutter of passing vehicles, pedestrians and vendors mar the entry to the monument. Staff pitch in as guides and can be seen fleecing tourists.

"I wish they could show us how these astronomical instruments work," said Rumni Ghoshal, a student of class XII.
There is no such facility, except that some amateur astronomers carry out some activity once in a while.
