There are no guides at the monument but the ASI staff offers to chip in and show the tourists around. When HT went posing as tourists, a guard offered to take around. The place is neat and clean with manicured lawns but all the garbage is dumped sideways.

There is no designated place for dumping or burning leaves.

Half of the dustbins are broken and stray dogs have a field day. There is no drinking water or public conveniences either.

"Scores of people visit ITO or the neighbouring Firoz Shah Kotla stadium. But hardly anybody drops in here," pointed out Seetha Dheer Kumar, a teacher at a private school.
