‘No women raped in Bhatta Parsaul’

The government has admitted that there was no specific case of rape in Bhatta Parsaul village of Greater Noida. Congress leaders had alleged that the village’s women were raped by the police after violent clashes over land acquisition.

On Thursday, Krishna Tirath, women and child development minister, responding to a question in Rajya Sabha said, “An inquiry committee set up by National Commission for Women visited the Bhatta Parsaul village in UP on May 12, 2011. No specific case of rape has been confirmed by the committee.”
