On first ever India tour, one of the biggest selling groups of all time, Backstreet Boys is set to make the country's music lovers groove promising that the show will resemble a movie, something their fans have never witnessed before.
One of the most popular boy bands during the 90's with hits like 'Quit playing games', 'Straight through my heart', Backstreet Boys will be the headlining band at the annual Rock 'N India musical festival rubbing shoulders with singer Richard Marx and other premier Indian acts.
"The show will be a combination of songs from our newest and old albums, which will run for 2 hours long. Some of the songs are 'Show me the meaning', 'Backstreet's Back', 'As long as you love me', 'Quit playing games' and many more fan favorites. There will be a lot of dancing involved, it will be more like a movie, a very theatrical show, something we've never done before," Backstreet Boys said in an e-mail interview.
Originally consisting of A J McLean, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson, Backstreet Boys presently exists as as a four-piece group after Richardson's departure in 2006 to pursue his other interests.
But what took the American band, which was formed in 1993 so long to visit the country?
"It's been a crazy 17 years...Trying to fit everything in. We are just happy to finally be heading to India. We just want to have a good time and if we are having a good time that illuminates and the fans have a good time," said the group which will perform in Delhi on February 20.
