A police officer said the accused attendants of the patient were residents of Turkman Gate area.

Following the incident, doctors and other staff of the hospital stopped work in protest. They were requested to resume work which they did only after the police registered a case.

As per the FIR, the patient was being examined but she suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest and a team of doctors went on to provide her with cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation. At this the girl's family got angry and started assaulting the doctors on duty. The hospital guard failed to stop them, as the patients' family started vandalising hospital property.
