Hearing about art and its various facets, the true lover of art realises that the appeal and scope of art and its gestures are universal. Art is but an expression of human imagination. Perhaps keeping this philosophy in mind, a group show titled Kaleidoscope will showcase works of artists that are strongly representative of the world of Indian art. Not borrowing from beyond the shores. The show promises to be a true statement of the Indian art

Figurative art
Somewhere in the midst of our city life, its the symbolism that art provides gives new thinking spaces. An exhibition of paintings and sculptors called Melange aims to bring in figurative works that have universal appeal. Replete with the conviction to interpret the pantheon and the human figure in their manner, the artists have presented works that impress.

Human forms and facets
A n exhibition of paintings by artist Ravi Kattakuri will showcase art in human figures especially the feminine form. It has been an important and recurring motif in the artists’ works because his childhood was spent in a small town and village which was surrounded by fields where both men and women worked for their livelihood. His art subject is human figures especially the feminine form, and it has been an important and a very recurring motif running through works. The art forms are intense and there seems to be a deep underlying message that runs through his art.

Music marvel
Producers Skream & Benga, credited with pioneering dubstep, will perform in India for the first time.The group released their debut album in 2010. In keeping with their influence over new electronic music, the duo were offered their own weekly show Skream & Benga that airs every Friday night from the London studio. The India tour is part of a full-fledged Skream & Benga Asian tour, hitting 9 cities including Tokyo, Jakarta and Seoul.

The Japan Foundation, is holding an exhibition of collection of remarkable graphic posters from the 80s and 90s, depicting the tremendous changes in economy of Japan in that period, known as Bubble Economy in Japan. This period was extremely good for business. Various enterprises invested on advertising and publicity which allowed the graphic designers to try out different kinds of designs.

Exploring the city’s rich past

Almost 156 years after the first War of Independence Delhi, the city which ruled the country has completely changed. But one thing that still remains same is the memory of the 1857 revolt and stories of bravery, loyalty and treason. Also spots which witnessed the combats between occupying forces and Mughal’s resistance, buildings and havelis where the rebel forces planned their attacks and forts signifying the historic moment. It was May 10 when the native Indian soldiers in neighbouring Meerut revolted against East India Company and thus started India's first war of Indepence known as revolt of 1857.
