The worst seems to be over for Delhiites.

According to the MeT department, chances of daytime temperature dropping below 20 degrees Celsius now seem bleak. The city has been enjoying comfortable weather for the last four days, with daytime temperatures remaining above 20 degrees.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature was 21.1 degrees Celsius, a degree below average for this time of the season, while the minimum was recorded a degree above average at 9.3 degrees Celsius.

"It seems unlikely that the maximum temperature will drop further this year. Unless a special system such as cyclonic activity or unusual western disturbance develops, we can expect the weather to remain similar for the coming one week," said the weatherman.

The morning temperature, however, may see some drop in the coming couple of days.

Delhi saw a prolonged spell of below average temperature for two weeks and the lowest daytime temperature was recorded as 14 degrees in the second week of January.

"After the bone chilling cold and icy winds, the weather has been very pleasant for the last few days. The bright sunshine seems all the more welcoming after the cold days," said Eshani Dey, a DU student.

Friday and Saturday are also expected to be pleasant.
