Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday described US President Barack Obama as a "sincere and valued" friend of India.
"President Obama is a sincere and valued friend of our country. And our discussions have led to a meeting of minds," Manmohan Singh said in his opening remarks at a joint press conference in New Delhi.
"Ours is a partnership based on common values and interests, a shared vision of the world and deep rooted ties of friendship among our two peoples," he said.
Obama arrived in Mumbai Saturday on his longest foreign trip to any country since assuming presidency two years ago. He leaves New Delhi for Indonesia on Tuesday.
