The police are looking at clues to ascertain whether Tuesday’s robbery was the work a new biker gang.

“The modus operandi in the Hauz Khas case and this case are very different. This can be a work of a biker gang but the robbery at Hauz Khas was not a grab and flee job. This could be a new gang trying to establish itself in the area,” said a senior police officer.

The police are also banking on the bullet lodged inside a guard’s mobile phone for some leads in the case. “We will send the bullet for forensic analysis,” the officer said.

Meanwhile, police said AP Securitas, which was transferring money to ATMs, doesn't have the transit licence to do so.

“During the investigations we discovered that the security agency has no licence to carry out the specific job. We are investigating if the banks were aware of it and how the company continued to do business for so long,” said a senior police officer who didn't want to be identified.

Despite repeated attempts, AP Securitas management could not be contacted for comments.

Kunwar Uttam Singh, Chairman of Central Association of Private Security Agencies, said, “In Delhi you do not require any kind of licence to carry out transit works. Such licenses are now being implemented in other states but Delhi is still in the process of doing so.” He said the Capital has over 3,000 security agencies.
