A day after a call centre employee was molested inside a car by six men in Pitampura area of north west Delhi, the police released the sketches of the accused. Police said the accused may have been involved in a similar crime earlier.

“The modus operandi seems to be of hardened criminals. We have prepared sketches with the victim’s help and are trying to match them with dossiers of criminals involved in such cases,” said a police officer. Police said they were also collecting data on pick-up jeeps plying in the city.

Police said the 21-year-old victim is yet to overcome the trauma. “When we tried talking to her about the incident, she went into a recluse and started sobbing,” said the officer.

The incident occurred on Monday when the victim was returning home with a colleague after attending a party in Gurgaon. The attackers engaged in a brawl with her friend Amit over the right of way. One of the attackers hit Amit with a rod, then forced the woman inside their jeep, drove around for twenty minutes and abandoned her at a secluded place.
