Police are yet to make any arrests in connection with the murder of a 61-year-old Chartered Accountant in east Delhi even though teams have fanned across the city to catch their servant, who is absconding.
The incident took place in the Shreshta Vihar residence of Yash Pal Soli, a Chartered Accountant who was also a council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Soli, who ran his office Y P Soli and Co. at his No 14 Bungalow in the locality, was suspected to have been poisoned to death on Sunday while his 55-year-old wife Sudha was beaten black and blue.
Police suspect the hand of a servant of the past five years, Surjit. He had left some time back but came back only two days ago for re-employment but is missing after the incident.
"We are yet to make any arrests in the case. Police are searching for him (servant)." a senior police official said.
According to the official, Surjit had worked for them for the past five years but had left work a few months ago. After the family's housemaid went on leave around a week ago, he came back and offered to work for them again.
Surjeet allegedly fled with Soli's car which was later found abandoned.
Sudha was shifted to a private hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in a critical condition.
