Delhi Police have issued strict security guidelines to five-star hotels in the city and have even asked them to check the luggage of their guests.
Police Commissioner YS Dadwal in a meeting convened at the police headquarters asked his officers to step up local intelligence gathering and vigil in the city.
“It was decided that quick reaction teams would be stationed at all five-star hotels in the city. The mandatory security guidelines have been given to the hotel authorities,” said a senior police officer.
The police said they have asked the hotel staff to check the luggage of the guests.
The police said frisking would be done at all access points in hotels. “We have asked the hotel and mall owners to provide us with the list of food suppliers and others entering the premises with cargo,” said the officer. New Delhi area has 12 five star hotels.
