Press club office-bearers elected

The Press Club of India Sunday formally announced that veteran journalist T.R. Ramachandran of G-Files has been re-elected president and Anil Anand of Greater Kashmir is the new secretary general.

The Press Club of India Sunday formally announced that veteran journalist T.R. Ramachandran of G-Files has been re-elected president and Anil Anand of Greater Kashmir is the new secretary general.

Among the other office bearers, Nadeem Ahmed Kazmi of NDTV India was re-elected treasurer, Arun Kesri of Univarta is vice president and Mohua Chatterjee of The Times of India is joint secretary. The elections were held Saturday and the results declared Sunday evening at 9.15 p.m. after some some unruly scenes in the club premises involving a few contestants and some members.

The new managing committee of 16 members comprises: Aditi Tandon (Tribune), Anant Bagaitkar (Sakal), Avtar Negi (DD News), Dinesh Tewari (Hindustan), G.N. Jha (Asian Age), Jitendra Kumar (CVB News Service), Jomy Thomas (Malayalam Manorama), Kamalnain Narang (Business Line), Manan Kumar (DNA), Parul Chandra (Asian Age), Sanjay Singh (Rashtriya Sahara), Sanjeev Upadhyaya (Doordarshan), Santosh Kumar (Dainik Bhaskar), Souvagya K. Kar (All India Radio), Sudhi Ranjan Sen (NDTV) and Karuna Madan (Xinhua).
