Prez, Vice-Prez, Sonia greet people on Milad-un-Nabi

President Pratibha Patil and Vice-President Hamid Ansari today extended their good wishes to the people on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birth of Prophet Mohammad.

President Pratibha Patil and Vice-President Hamid Ansari on Saturday extended their good wishes to the people on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birth of Prophet Mohammad.

In her message, Patil said, "I extend my greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens. May the message of peace and love to humanity preached by Prophet Mohammad inspire us to follow the path of kindness."

The Vice-President, in his message, said, "Prophet Mohammad showed mankind the path of compassion, tolerance, love, brotherhood and righteousness. His message has the power to lift the human race from ignorance, violence and moral decay to a life of peace and virtue."

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has also greeted the people on the occasion.
